Dr. Dre took the top spot for the
2012’s Forbes magazine’s HIP-HOP cash
kings, Dre ranked first in earnings, grossing a total of $110 million
through his lucrative sale of his Beats by Dre headphones to handset maker HTC
which paid $300 million for a 51 percent stake in the company last year. Far
off at the second spot on the list was Diddy, as the Bad Boy Entertainment CEO
earned $45 million mostly due to profits from diageo’s Ciroc vodka. At no 3,
was Jay Z who raked in $38 million dollars through his sponsorship deals
including Duracell and Budweiser and investment in the Brooklyn Nets.
